YouTube Five Years and Streaming Two Billion Views Daily

YouTube Five YearsIt’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since the first beta version of has been launched in May 2005. YouTube, the web’s most popular video site with over 24 hours of videos uploaded per minute, was registered in Feburary 2005 and the first video was uploaded in April 2005.

Along with the birthday celebration, YouTube announces it has surpassed an astonishing two billion video views a day.

YouTube has launched the My YouTube Story campaign to commemorate this occasion featuring a wall of clips of people around the world talking about how YouTube changed their lives. An example of this is Ryan Higa, the most subscribed user, shown below.
