Twitter has finally launched an official Tweet Button, allowing publishers to count retweets and allow readers to share their content. There were several retweet buttons in the past, all created by third parties, most notably Tweetmeme.
Twitter has just announced earlier today that they are launched an official button and are working closely with Tweetmeme.
The Tweet button works very similarly to the Tweetmeme button. Readers simply click the Tweet button, and a popup window opens allowing them to customize the message.

Official Tweet Button
Twitter’s button also has an extra useful feature. Publishers can choose to recommend two users to the readers who shared the content to follow.
In addition, instead of showing a short link in the tweet, Twitter shows the full URL, but still using only 20 characters, which is how many characters their t.co link would use. This is one of the features of their URL shortener.

Notice the full link is showing there, yet it only takes up 20 characters
