Shutting down your computer when you don’t need to use it for a long period of time, such as when you’re sleeping, is usually a good idea and can save you money on your electricity bill. However, there are certain situations where leaving the computer on is necessary, such as during a large download or during a malware scan.
This is when tools that can automatically shut down your PC come in handy. Auto Power Switch can not only shut down your PC at a specified time, but it can also tell your PC to hibernate and sleep.
In the top section, select a shut down action, such as Hibernate, Lock, or Sleep. The bottom section asks for the time at which you want to the action to be executed.

The app also lets you shut down only certain applications at a specified time. When shutting down applications, Auto Power Switch will bypass all confirmations and dialog windows and will simply end the process.
