A few weeks ago, Google opened up its extension gallery for developers to upload their extensions. Today, this gallery is now open for business featuring hundreds of extensions for Google Chrome 4 (currently in Beta).

Installing them couldn’t be simpler. Make sure you are running the latest Chrome 4 Beta and click the big blue install button. Confirm the installation and you’re done. Unlike other browsers like Firefox and IE, no restarting is required.

To uninstall extensions, go to the Tools menu (Wrench icon) and click Extensions. You will find a list of all installed extensions.

Wow. I just figured this out, and it is awesome. Much better than anything IE has to offer, and this will be very useful to me. Currently I am using Mail Checker, Wave Checker, Tasks, Translate, Flash Blocker, and Similar Pages. It seems 6 is the limit for the amount of icons one can have, and that’s basically all I need. This is pretty awesome.
Internet Explorer actaully has a greater extension system than Chrome at the moment as it is much older though installing IE Extensions is a pain.
That’s what I mean. The extensions are kind of lame and they’re even lamer to download. Chrome’s are quick and reliable.
Visit the IE Addons collection at http://www.ieaddons.com. IE does not have a flexible open source system like Firefox and Chromium does. With IE Addons, you need to install it with administrative privileges.
Google still has a lot of work to do for their extension system though.

Good idea, but I intend on starting with Mozilla since they have their extension system all finished. I’m still figuring out an idea.
